Sealing of Grandpa Pendleton to His Parents

On friday, October 10th, 2008, we were able to have a wonderful experience at the Bountiful Temple. Dad (Grandpa Pendleton) made the decision to be sealed to his parents, Joseph Marion Halterman and Mabel Arminda Pendleton.

We first sealed Grandpa Halterman to Grandma Pendleton and then Dad was sealed to them. It was a great experience. The sealer (Bro. Gardner) had ties to Parowan (his mother was from Parowan) and Bro. Gardner also knew Pres. Howard Knight as his father had served in a District Presidency with Pres. Knight. Bro. Gardner did a great job.

If you want to see an interesting article on Grandpa Halterman's death, you can visit the Parowan Times at http://dream.lib.utah.edu/digital/unews/pt.html

This is the old newspaper from Parowan. Search for the year 1922 and the edition is October 18, 1922. The article is at the top of the page entitled: Blood Poison Takes J.M. Halterman.

Fun on the Playset

Nathan, Elise and Ian (he doesn't know it yet) agreed to help us buy a new playset. So, their allowance for the next 10 years (grin) will be applied. The kids have loved the playset!

Cedar Breaks w/Grandpa and Grandma Pendleton

We had a chance to visit Cedar Breaks the last time that we were in Parowan. We took Aunt Margaret with us and had a great lunch at the campground area and then went to the overlook. We took a few pictures and wanted to share with everyone.

Don't let the camera time stamp fool you --- we did this on July 24th!
Nathan, Lauri, Ian and Elise at the Cedar Breaks lookout.

Elise had a great time running around, looking and gathering all of the flowers.

The kids found a scary old guy to hang out with during our visit to Cedar Breaks (who IS that guy?)
